The joint supplement is used by many horses at MHR and one bag will last each horse one month. Additionally, I would prefer if individuals would call in or mail checks to Shadow Mountain Feed (775) 727-5527. Tthey will keep a running credit and keep us in stock with the product,and also they will provide the name of the donor to me so that I can provide a receipt for end of year. This is my preference. MHR needs 12 bags of Vita Joint Supplement for one month's supply. . We have checked other prices and Shadow MT is reasonable and they can pick it up in Pahrump.
Purina Senior Equine Feed
As Stephanie has explained to us – these horses need more calories but not too much protein. Their needs can be met with joint supplements, beet pulp and senior equine .
MHR needs many, many bags of Senior Equine. Shadow MT Feed has it at about $19.50 per bag. (rounded off with tax).
Rice Bran
Many horses eat rice bran as a supplement to their diets.
At least 12 bags of Rice Bran needed monthly. Price is $13.65 per bag at Shadow MT Feed .
Remember Shadow MT Feed is closed Sundays and Mondays.

For anyone not familiar with this medicine cabinet, a brief explanation. Please call Shadow MT directly with your donation. (They let MHR know and the money is placed in the MHR account to be used as needed) Or horse.com and have it delivered to MHR. To maintain freshness and space at MHR , bags of these items are purchased as needed on a daily or weekly or when ever needed. I have posted the total needs required over a month's period of time.
If you add extra in your sponsorship or donation for a horse, mule or pony at MHR for a particular item, just post and let me know and that item decreases in the cabinet.
