Adoption Information

IF YOU ARE SEEKING TO ADOPT A PERFECTLY SOUND HORSE BOTH PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO PROVIDE A HORSE WHO MAY HAVE EMOTIONAL, PHYSICAL AND TRAINING ISSUES AND YOU ARE WILLING TO PROVIDE A FOREVER HOME TO A SPECIAL HORSE, THEN PLEASE READ ON.

Miracle Horse Rescue, Inc. is exactly that: A RESCUE.

ALL horses that arrive at the facility come here for a reason, whether they are not wanted, they have a physical disability or have been abused.  Occasionally, Miracle Horse Rescue does receive horses that are healthy and have no issues, but this is very rare. The terms and conditions of the Adoption Application are simple; however they have been established for the SOLE PROTECTION OF THE HORSE.

Adoption fees are based on a horse's abilities and/or potential abilities (fe.g., if it is a young, healthy horse in need of professional training).  Adoption fees ARE NOT REFUNDABLE. In addition, Miracle Horse Rescue is in NO WAY OBLIGATED to provide an adopter with another horse should the horse selected not be suitable for the adopter or in the event of the death of the horse.  It is VERY important for the potential adopter to spend a great deal of time with the horse they are interested in adopting.  This not only allows for the potential adopter to get to know the horse, but for the horse to get to know the human as well.  Miracle Horse Rescue, its staff, volunteers, or representatives DO NOT claim that a horse is sound both physically or mentally.

Miracle Horse Rescue can only disclose information pertaining to a particular horse which has been provided by former owners, and our own observation and daily interaction with said horse.

Potential adopters must understand that all horses can be unpredictable, and how they react in one environment does not mean that they will react the same in another location.  Miracle Horse Rescue cannot determine a potential  adopter's abilities in regard to their horsemanship skills. ONLY THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER knows of his/her abilities; therefore the potential adopter will not hold Miracle Horse Rescue or its representatives liable for any injuries or possible death sustained from the adopted horse.  Miracle Horse Rescue DOES NOT and WILL NOT claim that a horse is "KID PROOF" or "BOMB PROOF." As stated above horses ARE UNPREDICTABLE.

A potential adopter must understand that upon adopting from Miracle Horse Rescue that it CANNOT BE SOLD, GIVEN AWAY, LEASED OR BRED. A COLT MUST BE GELDED. A FILLY/MARE MAY NOT BECOME PREGNANT (this is for the protection of the horse as it may have a history of problems of which MHR is uaware and which could cause illness/death during pregnancy). If an adopter can no longer care for the horse, it must be returned to Miracle Horse Rescue in order for a new home to be located if possible.

A potential adopter does have the right to a vet check on the horse but it will be at the expense of the potential adopter.

Upon being approved for adoption , the potential adopter ASSUMES ALL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AS WELL AS LIABILITY for the horse which they have adopted. This includes veterinarian care, feed, farrier care, damage to property as well as the potential for injuries and even death to themselves/family member and third parties.  Owning a horse has its risks and even the best trained horses can be unpredictable.  Adopting a rescue horse may hold more challenges than anticipated, due to physical and emotional problems, therefore it is very important that a potential  adopter understands the risks, and challenges of a rescue horse as well as its abilities or lack of.

Miracle Horse Rescue Reserves the Right to Refuse Adoption to any person(s)
