Charlie

Charlie

Charlie is an approximate 10 year old Burro who was picked up with Cocoa on the 21st of October due to neglect. Clark County Animal Control had wanted the Mini Mule removed due to neglect, but upon contacting the owner he said that Charlie had to go also. Charlie is in fair condition, but needed his feet done. He was not overgrown like Cocoa but, needed them done desperately. We had a bit of trouble loading him in the trailer but once he was in there was not any problems during the transport. Upon our arrival to the Miracle facility, Charlie was very happy to get out of the trailer. In fact once being untied, he literally jumped out as if to say "Well, here I am Gang!" Trimming Charlie's feet was not an easy task. My father stood and held him, while my husband Robert was working with his feet. Everytime, Rob would pick up Charlie's front feet, he would make every attempt to cow kick at him. I realize it is not funny, but when you see one little Burro bouncing two good size men around like rag dolls it does have its humor. After about forty minutes, Charlie had brand new feet and a better understanding that we were there to help. I think Charlie got the best end of the whole ordeal cause he is walking without any problems. Now as for the two that were working with him...........that's another story.

Charlie likes his new diet, and is enjoying a clean pen and fresh water and all the attention he is receiving. We will keep you posted as to his ongoing progress.
