The Fans of Barbaro is a group of individuals dedicated to not only Barbaro, the 2006 Kentucky Derby winner, but the mission of saving horses at risk from being shipped to slaughter. The Fans of Barbaro along with Miracle Horse Rescue issued the first In Honor of Barbaro Rescue Challenge. Miracle Horse Rescue attended an auction in October of 2006 armed with a list of horses provided by the Fans of Barbaro to be bid on. Two mares in particular on the list were Misty and Rosie, both in foal. Miracle Horse Rescue was able to make the purchase of these two mares along with four other horses. "The Legacy," Baby B and Spirit, are the foals born to these mares. They were born at Miracle Horse Rescue safely and are loved by thousands. They are here today all due to Barbaro and to the continuing efforts of the Fans of Barbaro to aid horses at risk and in need.
Kathleen Parsons, Canadian turned Californian, has painted throughout her life, selling and showing her works through out the USA and Europe. Her passion for animals turned art into an advocacy tool for the fellow beings we share this planet with.
The image size is 10" x 13" on paper about 12.5" x 16." The inside cut-out on a standard 16" x 20" mat is 11" x 14". The print is personally signed by Ms. Parsons, so the standard mat is just a bit small and the signature will be partially obscured by a standard mat.
