The International Blessed Broodmare Project (TIBBP) is a group of artists who have banded together to raise funds to rescue PMU horses that otherwise would be sold at auction. In addition, they help various rescues with general expenses. This wonderful group was very instrumental in our rescue of Jerri, Apple and Nellie.
Last month TIBBP was involved in attempting to rescue a stallion, King, a clydesdale. One of the artists in the group, Lydia Auten-Ernszt, painted a resin model of a mare with her newborn foal and offered it at auction. She also said she would customize the paint if the winning bidder wished. Two of our MHR supporters happened to see this item and could not believe their eyes. It was our Misty and Spirit!
They bid on the item, they won and donated it to MHR. It is signed by the artist and after purchase, she put Spirit's and Misty's name on the back as well as a notation that King was the horse rescued. The artist painted this medallion without ever seeing a picture of the MHR horses until after the medallion was purchased. It is unique and one of a kind, just like our Misty and Spirit. Something was guiding her hand.
It is Spirit's Mother's Day gift to Misty and Misty's Birthday gift to Spirit. We have decided to have a drawing for it with all proceeds going to the to the general fund to help all the MHR horses, and the PMU mares in particular.
It sits on a table or shelf. About 5 inches wide, 4 inches high and 2-3 inches or so deep.
