Miracle Horse Rescue was involved with the IN HONOR of BARBARO RESCUE CHALLENGE. Six horses hand picked by the Fans of Barbaro were rescued on October 8th, 2006 at a horse auction in Oregon. Misty was one of them. Misty was 25 years old, pregnant and she had a weanling at her side, who was sold at auction. MHR was unable to convince the purchaser to leave the weanling with Misty.
On May 28, 2007 Misty gave birth to her 24th foal, a strapping colt named Bobby's Spirit, now known as Spirit. Misty's pregnancy and delivery were witnessed by many, thanks to a web camera loaned to MHR by www.marestare.com and an extremely popular thread on Tim Woolley Racing.
Because of her age, Misty will remain at MHR for the rest of her life. Misty is safe forever.
