Promise is a beautiful 23-24 year old Pinto mare. Promise is going to be spending the rest of her life at the Miracle Horse facility. She has a wonderful disposition and Promise is going to be here to help the children that come to visit the facility from the various field trips we conduct. She will aide the children in learning basic horse care. Promise will also be the first horse that many children will be touching for the very first time.
We welcome Promise into our very special family.
Update
Walking through the barn during feeding times and just throughout the day, she would place her beautiful head over the corral panels knowing that as you walked by, she would get a kiss on her nose and a scratch between her eyes. She would watch you as you moved around, with very soft brown eyes. So much trust and love she gave, despite what she had endured during her life.
As we walk through the barn this evening 11/18/2004, there is an empty stall and our hearts heavy with sadness. Promise was sent to the "Rainbow Bridge" today to join the others that have gone on before her. Promise had been used so hard in 27 years it left her crippled. Upon the advisement of our veterinarian, it was time to end her pain, as no matter what we did it was not going to work. We said our goodbyes, but she will always be in our hearts and the hearts of those who met her.
