Ty

Ty

Ty is a 36 year old Quarter Horse mare.

We had been contacted by Clark County Animal Control to see if we would assist the owners with her and another horse they had. The previous owners contacted us and the arrangements were made to pick the horses up on Fathers Day. When we arrived we were informed that the other mare had to be put down the day before due to her condition. We knew that Ty was blind in one eye, but when we went out to get her we realized that she was almost completely blind in the other eye as well. Her feet were over grown and her body weight was way down and she was in dire need of additional feed.

Since Ty's arrival she seems to be doing better, she is in her own stall, and is receiving soak pellets along with Beet Pulp, Oatmeal, Alfalfa and Molasses. Her feet have been trimmed and she seems to enjoy the company of her barn buddies. They all seem to know that she has a disability and have always been very gentle with her. Ty is going to be a permanent resident here at the facility.
